Diagram of fixed dome plant built in Nepal GGC2047
The fixed dome design that has been used extensively in Nepal was developed by DCS (Development and Consulting Services of United Mission to Nepal) in 1980. The original design was adapted in 1992 by the Gobar Gas Company. The design is cheaper to install than the older floating drum design. It also has a long lifetime, as it is made primarily of concrete and bricks.
The designs made in India use similar designs made from brick and concrete.
